It is a call for proposals worth over €400 million, aiming to award more than 1,600 postdoctoral fellowships,

I thought this might be of interest to recent PhD graduates and a great opportunity to launch new research projects, taking advantage of the positive momentum we're seeing between VN and FR institutions.

The European Postdoctoral Fellowships are primarily aimed at researchers from outside Europe, so they are open to Vietnamese researchers.

The Global Postdoctoral Fellowships, on the other hand, are mainly intended for those currently residing in Europe.

Two of the most stringent eligibility criteria are:

• Having obtained a PhD less than eight years ago

• Not having conducted research in the host country for more than one year during the past three years

Then the usual conditions, which include:

• Having a postdoctoral project supervisor

• Being hosted by an organization (a museum, research center, business, NGO, or government entity)

The fellowship provides funding for:

• A living allowance

• A mobility allowance

• Research, training, and networking activities

• Management and indirect costs

Here’s the timeline:

• 8 May 2025: Launch of the call for proposals

• 10 September 2025: Deadline for submitting proposals

• February 2026: Notification of call results to applicants (TBC)

• April 2026: Grant agreement signature for successful projects (TBC)

• April 2026: Start of the first EU-funded projects (TBC)
